Abstract

Electric power is carried into the area by the N.Z. Electricity Department over 66kV transmission lines as shown in Pig. 1, and supplied to the Electric Power Boards at Substations as indicated. Figure 1 also shows the estimated location of the epicentre of the main shock and its distance from the principle installations.
